Project Showcase
Here are a few select projects that we have built over the years. Please click on the images below to enlarge.
Concrete Block Farmhouse

The work entailed the complete internal refurbishment. Alterations to window openings and re-roofing as well as the complete removal of the external blockwork and replacement with hand made bricks and Ashlar Bath Stone. Two extensions were also added.
The garage was converted to a games room and the existing stables to open bay garages.
Externally the drive and parking areas were landscaped and a pool was constructed which can be seen in a later project.
Large swimming pool, walls, patios and landscaping in Potterne Wilts

We were commissioned to remove an old patio and lay a new curved patio in Indian Sandstone as well as to excavate into a very large bank and construct a 15m x 6m swimming pool with retaining walls, curved steps etc.
White House and Pond

This property is in Easterton, Wiltshire. The brief was to transform a fairly plain house into something a little more grand.
We constructed the r/h extension and moved the doorway to a central location. An oak door and frame were used and a Bath Stone porch was constructed. To the rear we constructed a water garden and incorporated a conservatory and patio doors onto the extension so that the clients could enjoy the water feature and pond.
Batheaston Extension

The project entailed the demolition of a poorly built garage and utility room and the reconstruction of a two storey extension to form a master bedroom an ensuite and a study below. The extension also enhanced the appearence of the front elevation.
Red Brick House

This property is in the village of Marston, Wiltshire. It originally started as a small square farm worker's house. We built extensions to three sides of the property and put a small porch on the front entrance. This transformed not only the exterior but turned the house from a 2/3 bed to a 5/6 bed with shower rooms, study and a large kitchen and probably doubled the value of the property.
Twentylands Pool Garden

We were commissioned to remove an old patio prior to landscaping and lay a new patio in Indian sandstone and Cotswold stone as well as a Pool refurbishment, Log Cabin to Four Changing Areas and Garden Room.
Construction of a walled patio area and swimming pool

We were asked to construct a walled patio area in blue limestone and a swimming pool in the center. Picture one shows work begining with the excavation of the swimming pool and the other two pictures show the completed wall and pool area.
Extension in Burbage Wilts
In 2006 we were employed to construct a kitchen extension to a large property together with sundry renovations.
The extension had a lead roof with a purpose made octagonal roof light. The brickwork is in Flemish bond and an exact match with the existing frontage.
Stone Lodge

The property underwent a very major transformation where we built a very large, wrap around extension. Picture 1 shows the front of the property although you can see that the l/h side is new, where it is yet to weather in, but you can see that it is in keeping with the existing dwelling. Picture 4 shows the attention to detail, which is required when matching into existing using natural materials. From being a small 2-bed gatehouse, this is now a very substantial country property.
Constructing Pond for Client

We were commissioned to clear an area and construct a traditional-style pond. The pond is 5ft deep and lined with a butyl rubber liner, surrounded by Cotswold stone and landscaped.
Car Port

We were approached by a client who needed a double garage and a large workshop. However it was to be in a very rural location and consequently it needed to look like an old barn in some ways. We helped to design the building, which comprised of a blockwork shell and clad in softwood sawn boarding with oak posts for an authentic effect. The roof was in second-hand double Roman tiles to match other buildings in the vicinity. It would be very simple to make this larger in the future should it be necessary.
Staircase Refurbishment

Staircase refurbishment, from an old painted softwood 50’s staircase to a beautiful oak clad entrance and stair.
Mock Fireplace and Kitchen refurb

We were employed to supply and fit a new kitchen with granite worktops and Aga, the centrepiece being a mock inglenook fireplace with Ashlar lintel, incorporating an old bread oven door. This gives access to the extract system for service and cleaning.
Gable end Extension and Swiss style balcony

With demolishon of the existing gable and temporary weatherproofing, reconstruction commences.
New Entrance and Heavy Duty purpose made Electric Gates

The above being as part of a larger project. The bricks are handmade Mickelmersh with Ashlar copings and caps.
Refurbishment and formation of a living room

During the full renovation of a 1960’s house we were asked to remove a load-bearing wall between a small dining room and a small living room to form a larger living room; the only redeeming feature being the Victorian cast iron fireplace.
Steel RSJ’s were inserted in the ceiling void to carry the wall above. All plasterwork was replaced as well as the ceiling and floor. New fibrous cornice was fitted together with an Ashlar Bath Stone fireplace. The door opening was moved and replaced with an oak door together with oak skirtings.
